운동을 힘들어 하는 노인환자와의 대화
Patient : Doctor. As I get older, I am afraid of falling(선생님. 나이가 드니 넘어질 까 걱정이 됩니다).
Falls can result in bone fracture(낙상은 골절이 될 수 있습니다).
It can cause me to become fearful and making it difficult to stay active(그것이 나를 두렵게 하고 활동적이지 못하게 합니다).
Doctor : Yes. As we age, most of us lose some strength and balance(나이가 들면 우리들 대부분은 힘과 균형을 잃습니다).
It makes easier to fall. (쉽게 넘어지죠). Bones become brittle(뼈들도 잘 부러지고요).
Patient : I have difficulty walking and arising from a chair( 걷거나 의자에서 일어나기 어렵습니다).
I am holding onto walls when walking(걸을 때 벽을 잡고 다닙니다).
Doctor : You need to use a cane or walker(지팡이나 보행기를 사용하세요).
And take your time getting out of the bed(그리고 침대에서 나갈 때 시간을 충분히 갖으세요).
Sit at the edge of the bed for a few seconds before you get up(일어나기 전 침대 가장자리에서 몇 초간 앉아 있다가 일어나세요).
You need to wear nonslip slippers when you are up or walk(서 있거나 걸을 때는 미끄러지지 않는 슬리퍼를 신을 필요가 있습니다).
Reducing the risks of falling is a great way to help old people stay healthy and independent as long as possible(낙상 위험을 낮추는 것이 노인들을 오랫동안 건강하고 독립적으로 살 수 있게 도와줍니다).
